Psalm Poster

The Psalm 150 poster was inspired by the style of the Hatch Show Print concert posters out of Nashville, Tennessee. The style of Hatch Show Print involves concert posters made with letterpress, hand-carved bold typography, vivid colors and a vintage style print. Mixing the Hatch Show Print style with the verse Psalm 150 worked well through the celebratory and joyous musical elements that both themes express. Large, distorted and distressed text was use to give the poster a letterpress and wood type feel that corresponds with Hatch’s handmade posters. The variety of small details such as the trumpeters, sun rays and musical notes create excitement and rhythm. The yellow and orange color scheme of the sun rays expose the vivid colors and expression of music and praising God. Throughout the whole poster, grain texture was added to elevate the poster and illuminate the vintage style print.
