Typographic Self-Portrait

This typographic self-portrait was created with the letters from my name, Elizabeth Long. The identity of Elizabeth Long is confident, joyous, sophisticated and youthful, therefore the typeface Sirenia was chosen. Sirenia contains a small decorative serif and rounded edges, providing a lively look of joy and enthusiasm but still involving sophistication and structure. Form was created from purposeful overlapping and spacing. The joyous personality is seen most in my smile with small overlapping type on my gums to show the whites of my teeth, bold face creases, and dark eyes with a prominent pupil highlight. The type was utilized into the waves of my hair with uppercase and lowercase letters to show dark areas of volume and spacious areas to show highlights.
